Plex is a popular media server software that organizes your media and allows you to stream it to virtually any device. We use Plex to host and deliver our extensive library of movies and TV shows to you.

Yes, you will need a free Plex account. When you receive our invitation email after subscribing to SloJo, you'll be prompted to either:

  • Sign in to your existing Plex account.
  • Create a new, free Plex account if you don't already have one.
This Plex account is what links your access to our SloJo server content.

Plex apps are available on a wide variety of platforms, allowing you to stream SloJo content almost anywhere! This includes:

  • Smart TVs: Samsung, LG, Sony, Vizio, TCL, Hisense, and more (via their respective app stores).
  • Streaming Devices: Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Google Chromecast, Nvidia Shield.
  • Mobile Devices (Phones & Tablets):
    • iOS (iPhone, iPad)
    • Android (Phones, Tablets)
  • Computers: Web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari), Windows, macOS, and Linux desktop apps.
  • Game Consoles: PlayStation (PS4, PS5), Xbox (One, Series X/S).

You can download the Plex app from your device's app store or visit the official Plex Apps & Devices page for more information and download links.

Your SloJo subscription gives you access to our premium movie and TV show library through Plex. However, please be aware of the following regarding Plex's own mobile apps:

Plex Inc. (not SloJo) may require a one-time activation fee (typically around $5 USD) to unlock full playback functionality on their official Plex mobile apps for iOS and Android. This fee is paid directly to Plex through the app store and is for the use of their mobile app software.

This is a one-time fee per mobile platform (e.g., once for all your iOS devices, once for all your Android devices). It is *not* a recurring charge from Plex for mobile app usage.

Streaming on most other platforms (Smart TVs, streaming devices, web browsers, desktop apps, game consoles) through the Plex app is generally free after you've signed into your Plex account.

Plex itself offers a "Free Movies & TV" section within their apps. This content is provided by Plex, is ad-supported, and typically consists of a more limited selection of movies and shows that can often be found on other free ad-supported streaming services.

Your SloJo subscription gives you access to our curated, premium, and ad-free library of movies and TV shows. This is separate from Plex's own free, ad-supported offerings. When you accept our server invitation and sign into Plex, you will see the "SloJo" server libraries listed alongside any other media sources in your Plex app. Our content is what your subscription pays for.

So, while you might see Plex's free ad-based content, your premium ad-free experience with a vast library comes directly from the SloJo server sections within Plex.

Our request system allows subscribers to suggest new content for our library. You can submit your requests via our Requests Page. Here's how it generally works:

  • Daily Limits: Subscribers can request up to 2 movies and 2 TV shows per day.
  • Process: Most requests are handled automatically by our system. However, some rare, older, or less popular movies and TV shows might require manual intervention to find and add them to the library.
  • Availability: While we strive to fulfill all requests, some content may be very difficult to source or might not be available at all.
  • Expiration: To keep our request queue manageable, any requests that are not fulfilled within 30 days may be automatically deleted and considered unavailable. You are welcome to re-request items after this period if you believe they might have become available.

We appreciate your understanding and your help in expanding our content library!
